Hi everyone,
I'm fighting false 498a case from 2019 onwards while staying in USA. Recently my passport is impounded when submitted for renewal as being told to me by Indian Embassy in New York verbally. Not sure why they can impound it even securing regular bail from the district court. Can someone guide me what steps should I take in order to get my passport back. Without it I won't able to travel and that might delay or worsen the on going cases back in India.
Any help in this area would be highly appreciated.
Thanks

Passport can't be impound. There is supreme court judgment which says that passport can't be impound. https://indiankanoon.org/doc/572504/ - just go to this link & get Supreme court judgment related to your query.
